Hiya everyone welcome to my blog,
I wanted to create a record for future wannabe nurses and survivors of domestic violence to follow and hopefully encourage people. I left my x 2/1/09, some new years resolution eh?? I had been hit that day and had decided to leave, upon leaving he decided to attack me in front of my 5 year old son , and thankfully another witness. We went to my mums and have found somewhere new to live privately rented which I am claiming council LHA (housing benefit for) and council tax. I am still waiting to hear whether or not we have it but we moved in (sort of) on the 16th.
So here is where my journey begins , I had always wanted to be a nurse from role play at the age of six I was drawn to it , I was fascinated by all the things they did and how they helped people and made a real difference (corny I know but true). Went to do a couple of courses when I was younger but lets say my taste in men wasn't any better then and leave it there LOL, had settled on working in warehousing for a long while till I got made redundant Nov 2007 and somebody mentioned retraining. At first I laughed and scoffed and said and do what ??? Then they mentioned that I was really good on the first aid course and very approachable and new that I liked nursing and suggested the access course and I sat up and paid attention. Since then I have been trying to sort it out but my x was holding me back, now I have no obstacles only challenges its me and my boy now and I'm going to do it for us.
I applied October to a local college and am waiting to hear about an interview date but they dont do them until May anyways so got a while to wait. I want to be in there now to be honest but I know I cant rush these things. So now it's a waiting game , and all i can do is sort my house out and work on getting some furiniture...... oh did I mention I dont have any yet LOL ????
Will let you know how I get on with house and access course as I go along good luck all you wannabe's and watch out all you qualities I'm coming your way!!!! ;)

Tracey sorry to hear about your horrible new year, but congratulations of pickin glyour life up and on moving forward, I hope you get to go on the course and good luck in your nursing

You've drawn a line under the 'annus horriblus' and can now get on with your life in the way you want! There's nothing to stop you now, so you go for it girl!
